Course Outline
The goal of the Canadian firearms program is the safe and responsible use of firearms, and includes a range of activities directed toward achieving that goal such as the following:
- The licensing of all firearm owners and businesses
- The delivery of the Canadian firearms safety courses
- Public education regarding safe storage, transportation, and use of firearms.
Prerequisites
PAL: Minor License – Must be minimum of 12 years in age. Converts to regular PAL at 18 years of age.
PAL: Adult – 18 years of age or older
Course Objectives
Firearms have social responsibilities. By completing this course you will be instructed on what these responsibilities are. You will learn how to do the following:
- Handling firearms and ammunition safely
- Using firearms and ammunition safely
- Comply with firearms laws
- Store non-restricted firearms and ammunition safely
- Display non-restricted firearms and ammunition safely
- Transport non-restricted firearms and ammunition safely.
